With this in mind I was curious just how much "Guilty Gear" Baiken would bring with her for Samurai Shodown. Playing Akuma in Tekken 7 was very similar to playing the character in Street Fighter 4, so much so that noted Street Fighter player Poongko who never did much in Tekken before or since managed to get a top 3 placement with the character at EVO 2016 by largely playing him as if he was playing Street Fighter 4, and it worked quite well.
While there have been many fighting game crossovers done before those two, they were probably the biggest in fighting games within recent memory which also crossed borders in a big way by bringing traditionally 2D characters into a 3D space and - while opinions on their general balancing may vary - made it work well.
At first when I realized that Baiken was going to join Samurai Shodown, my mind immediately went to Akuma's inclusion (and later Geese Howard's) in Tekken 7.
